Victoria Bartlett’s Fall line is full of texture, distinct knit pieces, skin-tight leggings, color blocked dresses and soft draping. “For fall we’ve done a lot of textures and faux leathers, faux suedes, faux furs,” says the Designer. The color palette is neutral, skin tones with pops of color and metallic. Hair was on trend with the pieces, “The line is very geometric, so we are having a very tight look,” says lead stylist Bob Recine.

Typically known for her ultra femme, seventies inspired frocks; Taylor shows a darker side in this collection. A nod to the cool, “downtown” chick, the designer chose dusky hues such as charcoal, plum, black and Bordeaux. Watch her discuss her Fall 2012 collection backstage at the New York Fashion Week.

J.Crew is known for being able to mix classic style with quirky and colorful details, and this season the focus was on prints and texture. Graphic print sweaters were mixed with ladylike skirts, and printed pants were a major highlight. Check out the entire presentation here.

The prevalent trends at the Fall 2012 New York Fashion Week include color blocking, free flowing fabrics and fur accents at BCBG; bed head, relaxed voluminous trousers, tweed and plaid at Duckie Brown and Rebecca Taylor's dark romance, gorgeous chiffon and leather motos.

Altuzarra's Middle-Eastern inspired collection included a Couture Grunge beauty look, which was all about the eyes. Besides foundation, the only other makeup applied was double-winged eyeliner, which formed drops at the tear ducts, reminding us of a swan-esque creation. We went backstage and were able to catch this eye-catching transformation for ourselves.

Hervé Léger reinvents the bandage dress each season, and for Fall, Lubov Azria looked to equestrians for inspiration. We caught up with the designer backstage, where she told us how Rachel Zoe helped ignite Hollywood's obsession with Hervé Léger's signature bandage dress. But designing isn't Lubov's only talent; we found out a few tricks she's hiding up her sleeve.

Theyskens' Theory is known for cool, downtown looks, and the Fall 2012 collection is rather inspired: by Grandma! Effortless hair floated down the runway thanks to a neat hair trick, and the makeup palette included warm bronze shades, taken from someone Granny might look at for beauty inspiration: the late Italian designer Elsa Schiaparelli.
