While the phrase 'funny bone' is commonly used, it's actually a misnomer. When even a gentle hit to our elbow can send shooting pain and tingling down our arm, we don't find anything funny about it. Also, the body part responsible for this sensation is not even a bone. It's a nerve called the ulnar nerve.
That ulnar nerve, which goes from the neck to our hands, dictates feelings in our ring and little fingers.
