Betsey Johnson's 63 freestanding stores and e commerce has filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy. Most of the 63 stores will close within the next few weeks and over 350 employees are expected to lose their job. The company's CFO released a statement saying the company has been struggling for months and due to cash flow problems they had no choice but to file for bankruptcy.

No further action will be taken against the father of striker Wayne Rooney after his arrest as part of an investigation into betting irregularities. Rooneys father was arrested with eight other men in suspicion of conspiracy to defraud. A police investigation into the apprehensive betting patterns at a Scottish Premier League match prompted the arrests. Rooneys lawyer said that his client has always vigorously denied the allegations and maintained his innocence throughout the investigation.
