What is 5min.com?

  • 5min.com is where it all started – a website dedicated to showcasing the best of library, featuring over 200,000 lifestyle, entertainment and informative videos from the world’s leading media companies and independent producers. Here you can browse, view and share all the videos found in our library – we get hundreds of new videos daily.

What makes 5min.com different from other video platforms?

  • While there are many video platforms and websites out there, 5min.com is meant primarily as a distribution tool for premium video, to be syndicated through the 5min Media network. With a focus on professionally-produced video licensed through content partnerships, we do not accept or feature the videos you’d typically find elsewhere – while we love to watch user-created virals, videos of cute pets doing weird things and wedding dances, 5min.com isn’t the place for these. We are focused on generating exposure and revenue for high-quality content, because that is the type of content we believe in. If you are a company or producer that creates such content, you are welcome to contact us and see what we can do for you.

How do I know if my content is a fit for 5min.com?

  • While 5min.com does not accept user-submitted videos, if you produce content that is engaging and valuable, you may consider partnering with us. We look for content with high production values, that complies with our editorial policies and is engaging to audiences. We do not accept videos featuring branded content, sponsorships, web referrals, spam, product placements or offensive materials. We do not accept slideshows or podcasts, or videos which infringe on the copyrights of others.

We do not work with "viral" video (i.e. one-offs), we do not accept videos that are primarily intended to market a product or service (unless you are a paying advertiser). We reserve the right to refuse or remove any content if it fails to match our mission. We maintain a strict editorial policy on these issues, and will not accept such content. In order to determine if the content you’re producing would be a fit for us, you are welcome to contact us along with some examples of the type of content you’re creating.

Do you have a copyright policy?

  • We take copyright law extremely seriously. For this reason we adhere to a copyright policy compliant with the Digital Millenium Copyright Act.

Does 5min Media produce its own videos?

  • 5min Media does not produce any video content. We believe that everyone should do what they excel at – content creators should continue to create valuable, quality content, while we continue to focus on what we’re good at, which is distribution. 5min Media provide services to companies and people who do create content.

Where does 5min Media distribute videos to?

  • 5min Media operates a large-scale syndication network of over 800 partner sites, as well as many sites and blogs which embed our videos via the Smart Player or our easy-to-use widgets. However, not all content is distributed to our entire network – as some websites have stricter rules or specific standards on what type of content they feature on their pages, we respect their editorial vision and provide them with tools to filter through our library and choose exactly the type of content they’d like to receive. Do content owners get paid for their videos on 5min Media?

  • We operate on a partnership basis, through which we license content and work with both content creators and site publishers on a rev-share model. To learn more about our partnership programs and see if your content or website qualify for revenue share, please click here.
