If you watch our last episode, you are all ready to bypass activation and jailbreak your iPhone. So, now that you are running 1.11 let us go ahead and slide for emergency and then dial*#301# and it will make phone call itself. It flashes all that, dial 0 and it will call itself again, answers the call that tap hold. The phone call itself again, tap decline.
Now, you will be able to return to a normal dial. This is great, now, you can add contacts. We are going to add two of them. The first one is going to be Prex, followed by Collin. The second one is going to be jailbreakme.com. You are going to save that.
Alright, now your contact has two webpages on it, tap on the first one then press. You want to go in and you want to connect to the WiFi network that you are going to be using to burn the jailbreak. You also want to go into the general settings. Go to auto lock and set it to never. Now, press the home button, slide for emergency, dial 0, answer the call, hold and then decline. This will get you back to your contacts.
Now, you can go to the contacts website jailbreakme.com. So far it will launch and you will see the webpage. Go and read through if you want to and then we will install the Apps net. The phone will return to activation screen, just wait for a little while. It will take a minute or so and then your phone should restart.
If it does not restart within two minutes, they get some problems and you are going to have to check on the forms or under tutorial.
When the phone starts again, it should no longer say slide for emergency but rather slide to unlock. This means that you were successful. The activation has now been bypassed and the phone is prepared for software installation.
So, if you want to just continue using AT&T service, you are unlocked—you can install all kinds of fun Apps and stuff. Now, if you want to unlock your phone that is the next step. We are going to run sim unlock. This is pretty straight forward. Go to the installer App, go to sources, tap add it and add. Add the URL i.unlock.no then tap done and then refresh.
Go to install and at the bottom scroll down to unlocking tools. You should now see any sim. After install, just go and press the home button and you will find the any sim icon on the screen, launch it and follow the instructions. Unloking will take about five to ten minutes then it should say it is successful. After any sims done running, you can go ahead and swap out the sim card. Go and put in whatever sim card that is you plan on using other than AT&T.
Now, you also want to go and install this patch in unlocking tools for the edgy network. There is a glitch in1.1 right now and this takes care of that for you where you lose your settings if you were to restart the iPhone. After the patch is installed, you also want to go into the settings, general, network and edge. This is where you are going to enter in the APN of your carrier in wyomingitsunion.web.
Then you are all set. You can go ahead and put your phone to lock whenever you want it to and you can uninstall any sim. Just do not upgrade to the nearest firmware at this point in time because I have yet to get to work with unlock.
