Hi guys! And welcome today’s video post. Now unfortunately, everybody is still talking about the recessions so I just thought I’d give you a two really quick tips on saving money.
First one coffee, now all you think this is going to be one of the first thing to go and if I put up on the screen one day, you can see the Starbucks’ price plunging for the last few months. I think that’s a clear indication that when you go and it gets tough and the bills—the last thing you want to do is go and spend four bucks or four euros on a cup of coffee. So what I do know is smoothly the every morning pack full of fruit, it gives you as much energy as a coffee about a half of price. It’s much, much better for you.
Now the second thing if you need to start looking at if you really want to save money is eating seasonally made, you probably heard chefs on TV and all that talking about—I know it's fantastic thing to do, normally all the ingredients totally are not really delicious so that they are absolute optimum for taste. But they are a lot cheaper. If you think by things like butternut squash and leaks at the moment, there’s a huge abundance of them, the farms are full of them, their coming on to the shops, there’s loads of them, get them and they're at the supermarkets as much as possible, so they’re going to cost you a lot less. And what I have done, at the bottom of this is I put a list of all ingredients that are seasonal at the moment—at this very moment.
So go ahead and start buying them, if you got a butternut squash, you can find a recipe online. Read different soups and risottos, things like that. Leaks are exactly the same. Now I'm just going to show very quickly little tip on how to prepare a leak.
If you're making a soup with a leak which is I really, really recommend you do, cut it down in the middle and you can see because it's growing, down into the ground, there's always grains and sands, and lots of lots of dirt. You don’t ever want to eat that—it’s really, really not good. So just cut down in the middle, plunge it in to ice cold water, and really get in and pull those layers apart and wash that, all that dirt you can see there.
So those are two tips, don’t drink coffee anymore. Substitute it with either water or smoothie in the morning, and buy seasonal produce. It will save you a fortune and it will all be better for you. See you tomorrow, cheers.
