Jason Reid: With this all wheel drive setup you don't necessarily feel like it's all wheel drive like you would say, a Subaru or an out.
Greg Morrison: That's one of the first things nearly every driver notices about the 2009 Acura TL with all wheel drive or as the Acura calls it super handling all wheel drive. Acura with an established reputation for out side of the box design goes a little further in the current TL offering sharper angles for front and rear to standout in the luxury sport sedan segment. And evaluator Jason Reid found that willing is to do a little more carries over to the performance side as well.
Jason Reid: When you really get into the corners the car goes with you, you don't have to turn one-and-half turns when you only need one it goes where you want to go.
Greg Morrison: So why does the TL illicit such a response, Baskar tell the people what they can find under the hood.
Baskar: Well, there are two engines available in the TL, a 3.5 liter V6 turns out 289 horsepower and 254 foot pounds of torque, made it to a front wheel drive transmission. The second option is the 3.7 liter V6 which delivers a screaming 305 horsepower and 273 foot pounds of torque made it to Acura super handling all wheel drive system.
Greg Morrison: Thanks, Baskar. And you have to give the marketing people at Acura some props for delivering key features like power on Moonroof, steering wheel controls and a multi function display screen as standard equipment on the tech package the TL of course includes navigation and a very sophisticated telematic system. With above average fit and finish it can compete with many other import name plates in the same segment and unlike it's competitors it's assembled in the US, at Marysville, Ohio plant. This is Greg Morrison.
