2009 Nissan Nismo 370Z

We recently had the opportunity to try out Nissans all new Z. But while at the New York Auto Show, we discovered a new version of it. This one from Nissans factory motor sport division called Nismo.

As you can see there are some unique styling cues on the Nismo-Z, from front to rare. Included in this would be 19 inch wheels and tyres. They are raised wheels wrapped by Yokahama advanced sport, Y rated tyres. There's also a dual exhaust which is an H-pipe configuration. The Nismo-Z has 350 horsepower. This is up significantly from the 332 horses that you get in the Standard-Z. And helping with that, if you are going to go faster you should be able to stop as well. The Nissan sport brakes included in this have 14 inch disc in front along with four piston calipers.

In addition to increasing horespower and improving the braking on the Standard-Z. Nismo also went to work on the handling and driving dynamics of the vehicle. They re-tuned the suspension and they added a strut tower brace. In addition to the Nismo badging on the outside of the vehicle there are also unique styling cues on the inside. Most noticeable are the embroidered seeds, the red stitching and then, there's a Nismo specific tachometer.

We haven't had the opportunity to drive this car yet. But we are looking forward to giving it a try and seeing how it compares on the road side-by-side with the new Z.
