We are about an hour south of Los Vegas because SVT wants to show us their newest offering and that's the Ford SVT Raptor F 150, dirt, dust, deep sand all of this is what this vehicle eats for lunch.
Ford SVT invited us out here in the desert to give us an engineering and design background of this vehicle, essentially taking a select group of journalists and giving us a deep dive into all the changes this vehicle has to it, they also brought out some professional drivers that took us out on a drive route that essentially duplicates the Baja 1000 race course some of you might wonder what the difference is between the SVT Raptor and a Stock F150 and the reality is there is a lot different between the two.
You can see just visually this is a 7 inches wider truck new fenders on both side the brand new hood in fact everything from the pillar forward design wise is completely different. The bed outers are also completely different, wheel valves much wider to handle the 35 inch BFG all terrain tires, also underneath the suspension, front suspension and rear suspension significantly upgraded to deal with the bigger horse power needs that the brand new 6.2 liter VA that's going to come out Winter 2009 when that makes it into this vehicle.
The front suspension completely heavy duty eyes rear suspension different leaf springs and the most significant change about a $7000 or $8000 of shock absorbers are underneath this vehicle in order to deal with the high speed desert racing personality that this vehicle has that no other truck in this segment offers.
