2010 Lincoln MKT Car Review
With the unique look and plenty of room inside, this people carrier offers a stylish
alternative to the norm. Hi! I’m Miranda Lightstone with WatchMojo.com and today,
we’re going to take a look at the 2010 Lincoln MKT.
The interior of the Lincoln MKT is actually quite well designed and on this particular
model, it’s actually quite classy as well with what in land, the steering wheel on the dash
and on the doors. Equipped with an 8-inch touch screen, the MKT also features 20GB of
hard drive space for all your music, so you don’t have to keep plugging in your iPod or
putting in a CD. From adjusting the paddles to opening the trunk to turning on active
Park Assist, it’s all right here at your fingertips.
What’s great about the MKT is that it has optional sitting for six. There’s a third row
that’s easy to push down or pop up though I wouldn’t recommend it for a full-size adult.
They’re more booster size for children.
The Lincoln MKT is extremely comfortable to drive. The seats are very plushy. There’s a
whole lot of room and even the back passengers get lumbar support that they can adjust.
There’s also a great of deal of visibility in this car. The windows are very large and with
this huge moonroof, you almost feel as if you’re in a convertible.
The best part about driving the Lincoln MKT is all the fuel-saving technology the Ford
packed into this car. From a two-speed fuel pump to an aggressive deceleration fuel shut
off to optimize transmission and final gear driving. This car has an EPA rating of 24
miles per gallon, both highway and city driving combined.
This car is really all about making driving very simple and making driving very safe. So,
this Lincoln is equipped with Active Park Assist. Basically, what that does is it parallel
parks for your and this is also one of the first vehicles to be able to have Active Park
Assist on a hill. Now, well we are on a flat surface here, I’m just going to show you how
the Park Assist works in general. So, it’s found me a spot. I popped it into Active Park
Assist. I put the car in reverse and I want to take my foot off the break and it is now going
to park for me which is an extremely unnatural feeling. I now popped it into drive so that
it can pull me forward and adjust me. I just got it just right.
For a large SUV type vehicle, it’s really pretty much a people carrier. This car actually
has quite a bit of power. If you opt for the all wheel driver version like we’re driving, you
get 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6. Now, because of the V6, you save on fuel but with the twin-
turbo, you’re going to get 355 horsepower and 350 pound-foot of torque which is great
for a vehicle like this.
With the price tag, it’s decidedly steep for some. At least the Lincoln MKT has a good
sticker with it and if you like the style then it’s well worth the money.
