Male 1: Hey I am Steve Nelson and you are watching four minute film school. Sure where I get four minutes to teach you a lesson on film making. And it is going to best or worst four minutes of your life but that depends on how you look at things and today we are going to be covering story boards so start the clock.

Male 1: The idea of story boarding was conceived and verse implemented by Web Smith who is subsequently murdered by Samuel case story board. Story board takes out many roles in the professional film industry and may be done by the production designer, director, director of photography, cinematography or a higher story board artist.
Male 2: For our purposes though you will be the one doing the story board for your own movies other wise you probably would not be watching this video anyway. There are tons of different ways to go about story boarding, to start it off we will take a look at the original form invented by Web Smith.
This process is basically consists of drawing out your images and writing down any dialogue or action notes that you think that should be included. You can download this free template we made for you guys by going to this link. Just print copies out and draw or if you care about our planet making it to a write bold five billion, you can just download them and draw in them using the program of your choice.
Male 1: If you are working with the team you use post-it notes on a board and write underneath them in an erasable marker. This way you can move things around and the team can throw out ideas which can be easily visualized and then the guy who came up with the stupid idea can be easily asked to leave.
If your local school will not let you use their dry erase board, remind them that you are student and this is project that might get you into college or if you are out of college, dropped out or just saving your home town or whatever remind them that you are a tax payer and that all the money that IRS steals from you goes to paid for said drive way sport. And I they end up kicking you out and you are not allowed to use it you can buy a poster board to put your posted notes onto not a work.
This style of story boarding is generally used to visualize your shots, look at the project as a whole and really make a decision on the order of the events. But if you are looking for a more in depth story board there is other options.

Male To get a good guestemation on the length of your project and to hear what your sound track will eventually sound like, you can do a video story board.
Once you have finished the other story board we are talking about take the images that you drew, scan them into your computer and place them in the right order. Then record a rough audio track of the dialogue and whether it is you know woman characters or male characters just do all the voices yourself for it so you can get an idea of how long every scene is going to be.
Add some sound effects and some music and you will have a pretty complete skeleton of what your final product is going to look like.

Male 2: Try and write your film to accommodate certain props and locations that you have access to the overwhelmed to our films if you originally clip for stoned the mail and if your data is about write a scene on it. This will make the film info more interesting to people who do not see the location often. And we will give you our film more personal edge and make you leave your mark on the genre.
Male 3: When you start running for your film make sure you do not over laid yourself with work because becomes a mature in that, it is pretty boring.
Male 1: The most important thing is that you make a story board for your next movie because even if it is chicken scratch it will save you both time and money and the time you are going to save is both while you are shooting on location with actors and everything. You would not be having to plant out your shots and in the editing phase because everything will be laid out in front of you already and you will know what to do with the footage.
