In your kayak you are going to have five points of contact for outfitting. First point here is your back band and your second one you can have your hip pads right here. The third point of contact is going to be your butt, the fourth one is your thigh hooks and the fifth and final one is going to be your bulkhead. First point of contact here is going to be the back and what we are going to do here is most boats are going to have some sort of ratchet system or pulley system that's you can bring the back band up to you.
So you want to get that up, get a nice and snug not too tight where it's hurting your back by any means and also you not going want to have it as a crutch where you are leaning back like so. The back band is just designed to keep you kind of upright and forward for your paddle position.
Second point of contact here we have the hip pads and in here I want to come up and be nice and kind of -- you want to make sure that they feel snug where they not going to be cutting off any circulation to your legs and you want to have it again just like a comfortable jogging shoe. The third point of contact is your butt. As you can see its pretty self explanatory, you kind of sit down in there; you want to be centered kind of sitting up right.
The fourth point of contact here we have the thigh hooks, now these can be definitely kind of important that you are going want to make sure that they are going to be grabbing you on the fleshy part of your thigh. If it's like so on your knee cap it's not a good place to be as you want to kind of have it adjusted to your thigh area. Most of them are all moveable as far as front and backwards.
So the fifth part of contact you are going to have the Bulkhead and you want to make sure that that's adjusted to where it comes right up into the ball of your foot.
