Male Speaker 1: I have heard about the Loveland pass challenge but when I think off Lincoln I think of luxury. They don't necessarily think of racing the V6 Lincoln and the other cars sounds like an interesting experiment I don't know for Lincoln will be able to pull it off.
Male Speaker 2: I probably go with Maserati.
Male Speaker: I think the BMW on a help line would probably win.
Male Speaker 1: If Lincoln has a V6 I can keep with European brands that will be a great thing to see.
Jean Jennings: These are our goals the number one goal is to get all five cars up that hill and test it. We obviously thought was really cool that Lincoln engineers thought that may be their equals to be 6 could be this European rates. But we knew who would believe that's what they are interested. It just sprung really formed in my head we should do the test.
Michael Ofiara: 6 a.m. getting the cars drive along the past, down you cans sort setting up the jaguar which is going to make the first run up the hill with the vbox.
Don Sherman: We use that piece of test implement called vbox, basically at links opt with ten or so satellites through this antennae and this box records everything in the car it does time, position, velocity everything you mean to do a full data analysis.
Frank Markus: Well its interesting that is here is that this is powered away you know and then this become plus more handling oriented on this end. This challenge i thing will be a great way to change public opinion related to smaller engines. In the past they thinking has been it is a luxury car its going to have V8 if we can show that this Vega boost V6 its the job done as well as or may be even better than the V8's then I think that's the key way to start moving perception in that direction.
Vega boost is an interesting ambitious technology both triple charging and direct fuel injection have been around for a long time the magic is combining them. Then the results are lower fuel consumption maximum power with lower machines.
Corey Weaver: But we started to take a boost program to find a solution for raising fuel prices and that would blend a performance of a VA with the fuel economy of V6.
Brett Hinds: Well this by far the most exciting product that work done. We have tinter both charges plus direct injection that's exciting from an engineering perspective. In a very first time we hit the gas well that in the car is instantly threw back and the seat near like wow we nailed it.
What really define the egoboost engine against large VA is a n ice flat and well then a torque curve. Torque is what actual accelerates the vehicle is that se to the pans check that you feel when you step on the gas.
Jean Jennings: Then had designers working like crazy on the line up and now they have a car with a very impressive twinter would charge 6 cylinder engines. It will have an advantage at altitude but it can beat this European luxury V8's and it's a little David and Goliath we like it, and it's a cool story.
I think this is like competing with the Olympics if you had some of the best in the robot opining with and we are going to give this vehicles run for their money.
Corey Weaver: Being in elevation gives the triple charges and opportunity to really perform so there is a distinct possibility that we are definitely going to smoke up.
Jean Jennings: Lincoln had the confidence in this car and have to admire engineering confidence but right from the beginning I said it might not win.
