60 Second Style: Ethnic Influences in Fashion

Coming from an ethnic background has really taught me to appreciate fashion in a more global sense. That's why I'm so thrilled to see Balenciaga doing tons of scarves for fall. As well, so many other designers, giving that same feeling on the runway, through feathers and oversized chunky jewelry. The best thing about this trend is that it instantly updates your weekend T-shirt and jeans look. Don't try and over-accessorize. Choose a scarf and reinvent it, making it feel instantly current and seasonal, by pairing it with a bold backless that really speaks to you. It's really easy to accomplish this look. What I've done here is tie the scarf around twice, and add in a necklace that I love. Prints often work best for this type of accessory, because it really pulls the look together, just remember, if you're choosing a print to keep the lust of your look in more of a solitaire.
