6's and 9's
Tutorial : Part 2
Rob Schumann: In the second segment, we are going to go through our other positions of the Blue scale and identify our 6's and 9's. So, we started on the fifth fret and we are going to stay on that same fret, but go back the other way. So here is our Blue scale on this position, and so counting up from the route here, we have got the one, the flat three and so from the flat three, I can always go back one and find a nine. This one is fairly low, but I have got a B note there.
So, one, flat three, four, flat five, then five is right here on the second fret, and so then I go up to the flat seven and below that, here is another F sharp. So I find that B and that F sharp here and I can use same art of principle, so there is another nine. Some way two 9's in this position are on the second fret of the fifth string and fourth fret of the fourth string.
Then I just found a six here, on the fourth fret of the fourth string and so I can use an octave shape going back this way and find another six on the second fret of the of the first string. So as I am practicing this Blue scale, I will keep in mind that I can also add the 9's here and here, and the 9's on the fourth fret and the second or the 6's on the fourth fret and second fret.
So that's fourth fret of the fourth string, second fret of the first string. So now, I am going to another position of the A Blue scale, I am up on the seventh fret of the fourth string and we will play this Blue scale.
So in this case, I have got the one, the flat three and so right below that, I have got my nine. There is a B, and using octave shapes, I have got another one up here on the seventh fret of the first string and then I have also got one below down here on the seventh fret of the sixth string.
So there are my 9's in this position and then as I keep going, I have got one, flat three, four, flat five, five and then I will a flat seven here on the eighth fret of the second string, so one fret below that, I have the six. So there is my F sharp there and then using an octave shape, I can down below the original route and find another six here somewhere. F sharps are on the ninth of the fifth string and the seventh fret of the second string in this position.
So once again, I had my ninths and my sixths. So that gets us through three positions of the Blue scale and the following segment we will look at the last two.

This would be a G chord and you just strum down and the arpeggio back up. The last finish is --
