I am going to show you how you to cheat on your resume. Actually I am going to show you a very clever way of being creative with your resume so that you really stand out. In other words you have to ribbonize your statements. You are going to look not like everybody else because you are going to have a very conscientious teacher that's going to show you how to do a resume which means he is going to show you how to look like everybody else in the class or as you want to stand apart.
Now you use the resume for one basic reason, a lot of colleges do not give you really enough room on their application for you to make a statement about something that was really important that you did while you are in high school. So you need a resume as a settlement to that application, kind of fill in the blanks so to speak.
So the application or the resume will look something like this, you have got your name at the top, followed by name and address and everything is perfectly lined, perfectly spelled but you'll notice there is something different about this resume. You got it. It's that highlighted area that only takes less than seven seconds to read and hopefully in that highlighted area you are going to have the most important thing that you did in high school that you really wanted Mrs. Reader to notice more than anything else on this piece of paper and the other thing that they are going to be drawn to is the assumption that you wouldn't have made this mess on the resume, it must have been somebody else in the office who did this and didn't want me to miss it. And that is how you get creative with your resume.
Good luck to you, I am Paul Hemphill.
