Now the most important thing to remember, when I can't stress this enough, is you must hit the one solid. Meaning that -- let's imagine a line through the object ball, in this case the one and the cue ball. That's our imaginary line, what we are doing is visualizing, hitting the one about in this area.
Now let's say I move the cue ball to the center of the spot right here. Now we are hitting the one, dead straight on, and if we move the cue ball let's say over here.
Now we are hitting the one, a little bit to this side, you always have to remember to hit the ball solid.
Now a lot of times -- how many times you've seen a guy, they get up and look like they are winding up to hit the balls 500 miles an hour, but what happens is they take these big strokes when they hit, they may be stroking and hitting hard, but they are only catching a piece of the one ball.
So what I find is that I am normally trying to hit the balls maybe 70-80% as hard as I know I can hit them and trying to hit the one solid. The more solid I hit the one, then I start adjusting my speed and hitting a little harder, a little harder, a little harder, until I get a 100% maximum capability.
