A Comparison Between Boosting and Balancing the Immune System

Raena Morgan: We’re talking with Dr. Larry Robinson. A question I’d like to ask is what’s the difference between immune boosters and immune modulators?

Dr. Larry Robinson: Well, that’s a great question. The immune product category has so many products in there. I really don’t know how to consume and to figure out you know what to get these days. Most of the products out there are designed to stimulate or boost the immune system which is okay if you’re trying to fight off a pathogen.

But the immune system does so many more things. I mean it keep you healthy n so many different ways. The immune system needs to be balanced because if you have inflammation and you have anti-inflammation. And if anything is out of balance, you’re going to get sick one way or the other.

Immune modulator tries to balance the immune system so it’s not out of kilter and you make the proper or appropriate response.
