If you are a trainer in history buff, head down to Dolores Colorado for a visit to the galloping goose.
This historic railcar was used to carry the mail across Colorado in the early 1930’s.
Male: Galloping goose number five was built in 1933 by the Rio Grande southern railroad. We’re passing to a compartment was built from a pierce arrow touring car and the back part was freight box for hauling small amounts of freight and the meal. The whole flea got their name because they intended to waddle and they went down the track.

Today the Galloping Goose carries passengers during special events and is available for group rides. It is also on display year round at the Rio Grand’s Southern Railroad Museum.
Male: Our museum is an effort to create displays and show the history of the railroad. And some history of the Dolores River Valley. It’s one of the most unique pieces of railroad equipment you will find anywhere in the railroad world Colorado is synonymous with narrow gauge. And s if you’re a narrow gauge fan, Galloping Goose number five is a must see.
