Hi! My name is Richard and you are now looking at the Neo C310X Portable car navigation system. I got this for $450.00 on Black Friday at Circuit City and I thought that it was a really good buy; a really good investment because I get lost really easily on the road. And this little unit help me find a way back to the original place I wanted to go to. And to say some of the features on it, there is a 3.5-inch touch screen. It is about 1.5-inch thicker than the C230 and C320’s or the Magellan’s. Of course, it is not as thin as the Garmin UD350 but it is still pretty thin – pretty kind of sleek. Has an SD card slots so it allows you to load international maps or load your MP3’s from SD card and yes it has a portable MP3 player. I can show you down right here. Basically, store your MP3’s on the SD card and you push the SD card in and while it loads, just press play.
It gets play loud but I will not play it loud so you can hear me. You can even play the music while you are using the GPS map but every time the voice tells you to turn right, the music will stop. Now, some features that this neo does not have is Bluetooth support. So, your phone calls cannot be transferred to the speaker. There is no text-to-speech so it will not pronounce the street names but you still will see the street names on the screen. It is really easy to use. I do love the touch screen. I love the user interface. If you go online, there are some packs available to let us watch movies from there or play that MP4 movies and it uses operating system Windows CE which is pretty cool but I do not want to hack it because I just rather use the original software because I might void the warrantee or something. And you can store your favorites like home and work. And I do love this option called Point Of Intersection right here. And basically, I think that is what Point Of Intersection is. I do not know what it stands for but they speak of new services like transportation and shopping, entertainment and culture, and basically it is just like the city where you are at, it will label all the shopping centers, restaurants, places to go, and you will just pick click and it will navigate to you directly. I cannot show you because we are not moving right now. But it is very easy to use and the only problem I had with it is that it does have some awkward management inside. For example, I am about 40 to 50 yards away from the turning point and it says, “In 100 yards, turn right” but I am just 50 yards off. But at least it does show me on the map where to turn right so, it is still easy to see and I do understand but it does have an awkward measurements. The voice is not robotic, it is a male voice. I believe you can change the voice online if you download updates for it.
Now, some accessories that come with this unit is a USB cable to download feature updates and I believe they update it once a year. You will only get one free update and you need to pay for the rest of the updates. The GPS service is free, by the way, so, all you have to do is pay for the unit and for the maps. It does come with an AC-adapter so, in case your car is not running, you want to charge the unit just to play MP3, you can. It comes with a car map, so you can stick under the windshield so you can easily see it while you are driving but if you do not like that you can always put on a dashboard with this little sticky thing that goes on your dashboard. I have not used it yet because I really like it under the windshield. It makes me easier to see. Of course, there is a car charger. The car charger is plugged in by the mini-USB ports and that is great. So, in case you ever lose it, you just buy a range of phone charger and just easily charge it by that. It has also a headphone port incase you want to use it as a portable media player. Of course, if you have got auxiliary cable inside your car, you can use it to plug it in and transfer the songs to your stereo. I am not sure about the voice though. Now, the battery, it is okay, it is about five hours. As long as you keep it charged with the car charger, you should be good to go. But I do like this unit. I think it is a really good investment if you do get lost. If you really know your maps well, I do not recommend it of course. And this is the Neo C310X portable car navigation system and my name is Richard. Thanks!
