Guide to Temping
Hello my name is Marcus and I am going to talk to you about something very important, I have done every type of job you could possibly imagine. I have been a waiter; I have worked as a purchasing agent for a pharmaceutical company, I am an entertainment director for an energy drink company and also done temp work.
Temp work is very important especially for an actor which I have also been done a lot of performing and film making and such and that comes with a little bit of flexibility. Temp work, waiting tables, two major staples in the active industry. Temp work is actually a lot more fun that you think it might be. And here is why.
Tip number one, stay busy. You got to keep those fingers working, do whatever you need to excite yourself and break up the monotony of day because that is one thing that can happen with temping as- it can get a little monotonous if you do it improperly. But if you check out the internet here and there, do some fun things, make some phone calls, stay busy, stay focus, stay busy. This is going to excite your bosses like nobody’s business.
Tip number two, take initiative. Keep it interesting. You know what you need to do, you see a job that you think needs to done, do it, do it cause most likely if you think it needs to be done, it needs to be done. And that will impress you bosses, take initiative, be innovative, find ways to extend your job, take personal ownership of some of the ideas that you have and bring them out into the company, Open it up.
Tip number three, you are just there for the day. You are just there for the day, it is temp work, if you see something bad happen or something that you probably should not be seeing, ignore it because at the end of the day, you are going to go home and move on. Let the people who are there permanently do what they have to.
Tip number four, take it till you make it, stay challenged, challenge yourself. Keep things interesting, remember Temp stands for temporary.
