Hi it’s Mike Callahan, Dr. File Finder. Welcome to part seven of our special butterscotch.com 10-part series on Windows 7. Now in this segment I’m going to talk briefly about home groups, which is a new networking feature that would be available in Windows 7. To access it, you click start, control panel and when control panel opens, you click network and internet and there you see the home groups’ option which I’ll click.
Now, the home group connects to your home network, makes it extremely easy for you to share files, folders, printers and so on. You can see here if you can create a home group to share your libraries, pictures, videos, printers and when you’re ready and you forgot the things that you want to share in your home group, you click create now. When you’ve done that the system takes over and creates all the links, shares all the devices and all the libraries that you want to share and when it’s done, it gives you a password that you use to put your home group and other computers running Windows 7 in your house. And then you just click finish.
So, home group should be an easier way for home users and particularly to create groups where they can share files, folders and external devices like printers much more easily than in the past and that concludes part seven.
