I am Steve Turano, welcome to this episode of Body Performance. “It’s a new year. This is a year we are going to get in shape. I’m gonna lose weight and feel great”. Now, when people say that to themselves, they need to think “I have to undertake an exercise program”. And that is fine but the problem is this. Because they have been sedentary for so long, maybe 10-15-20 years, they think that any type of exercise program that they undertake will do the job and it will be better than nothing absolutely. But eventually, you’ve got to take it up to the point where you are consuming enough calories so it makes a difference. Now have you ever seen people in the gym who are really exercising like maniacs or are walking through the neighborhood and you drive by them and then if you drive by an hour later and they are still walking. So you see, these are the people who are making rapid changes in their body because they are putting enough time in doing cardio and that is the area where people are making the biggest mistake. You do cardio two or three times a week, 20-30 minutes each time, better than nothing which will really make a change to really make an impact in your weight loss you have got to do lots of cardio, you have got to do with intensity and you have to do with frequency. So, 4-5-6 days a week would be better, 30-40 minutes would be even better and doing it with a certain amount of intensity. You can’t just go through the motions. Cardio is the key, that, and dieting.
