Hi, this is Mike Callahan, “Doctor File Finder” and welcome to your special Butterscotch.com sneak preview of Google Voice.
In this segment we’re going to look at the concept of having just one phone, so you’ve gotten your Google Voice number and now you have your cell phone, your spouses cell phone, your home phone, your work phone whatever phones you have in your life. So here's an example on your phones.
Now, I'm putting in the phone number of a phone. This is not a real number. I'm indicating whether it’s a mobile, work, home, Gizmo. I can say whether or not this phone receives text messages because you may want to have all your text messages go to one phone. Another option you have, you have direct access to voicemail when you call your Google number from this phone. You can say yes and require your pin, you can say pin is not required.
Now press the start during the greeting, you can say when this phone will ring now this is a physical phone not your Google numbers you can say always ring on weekdays, never ring on weekdays or use a custom schedule. You can have it always ring on the weekends, never or use a schedule. Now if you say never ring on weekdays and never ring on weekends that this physical phone will never ring which are I got saying adjusting itself.
Now I want to show you when you click save it pops-up a verification and what it will do is make a call to you so I could say connect this was a real phone number and it would call the number to get a message saying to put in the code that you see on your screen which is in this case is 33, you type that in and you're done and that phone is now verified and apart of your Google Voice account. There are into so many features in Google Voice that are so cool that where I going to be able to touch and the high spots in this sneak peak but this is a way that you can convert your office line, your home line, multiple cell phone lines and be able to give out one number that you can keep the rest of your life.
Remember that this is a multiple parts series and be sure to listen to all five parts.
