Hi, this is Mike Callahan, “Doctor File Finder” and welcome back to our special Butterscotch.com five part series on sneak peek at Google Voice.
Now in this segment we’re going to look at unique greetings. It is yet another cool feature of Google Voice that you can record a unique greeting for each group that you’ve created. In fact you can even create a unique greeting for an individual person that you’ve put in a group. So here in the Google Voice interface on the general tab you see family greetings the last one I recorded. You can play, re-record, rename, delete or add. So we’re going to click add, I'm going to type in Butterscotch.
Now it’s asking me what phone do I want to call it. Google is going to call my phone to record the greeting from Butterscotch, so I've told that you'll call the Horizon phone. There is the call, “Hi Butter kids I'm sorry I can't take your call right now. I'm recording tutorials and have my phone muted, leave you name, your message and a number and I give you a call back. Thanks.” Let it plays back you’re greeting to make sure that it is okay.
So when I approve greeting by pressing one my greeting save I can just hang up. We’re done with this. Now I have a new setting, I can go to groups, I go down to Butterscotch, I could say edit and I could say custom greeting to Butterscotch and I click save and like colleagues at Butterscotch we’ll get a unique message every time they call. So this is the greetings function in Google Voice, it’s very cool, very flexible.
Remember that this is a multiple part series, please be sure to listen to all five parts.
