Hi! David Caris here for two-minute guitar tricks which is sponsored by guitarbanddvd.org. Check it out if you haven’t already. I’m going to show you today something that’s used in a lot of southern rock and the first thing I would like you to do is to refresh yourself by going back to lesson 5 which was sort of a country bend and you’ve probably heard this bend.
[Demonstration]
Which I did with a clinging sound, here I’ll turn off my distortion.
[Demonstration]
Play that by hitting, this time the same position that you’re hands in, only your plucking down on the G-string and the B-string.
[Demonstration]
I’m doing this in the E position over the twelfth fret.
[Demonstration]
So that’s what it sounds like.
[Demonstration]
I can hit it three times, you can hit it once.
[Demonstration]
You can move it to other positions like the A position. We can do things like playing with this lick by doing—
[Demonstration]
Anyway it took really cool southern rock kind of a lick.
[Demonstration]
That’s basically all it is. I’m just doing variations of these.
[Demonstration]
Take a good close slip from my fingers are and you notice as I’m hitting the strings down, I’m pushing my fretting fingers up.
[Demonstration]
And that’s your southern fried two-minute guitar trick for the day. It is easy, you can do it and clearly a lot of you are so please post comments in the YouTube site and you know, we’ll be happy to reply to any questions that you might have to. Have a great day and this is David Caris for two minute guitar tricks and guitarbanddvd.org. Take care.
