For a quick tour of the iPhone, begin by looking at the top of it. Here, you see the Sleep Awake button which locks and unlocks your phone. When locked, you can still receive calls but nothing happens when you touch the screen.
The opening at the top is where you remove or replace a SIM card. The headset jack lets you plugin the headset which also has a microphone.
Now, look at the bottom of the iPhone. Here you see the speaker which is the built-in speaker phone and plays audio if no headset is plugged in. The speaker also plays the ringtone on your phone.
The dock connector lets you recharge your battery and synchronize your computer to your iPhone. The microphone lets callers hear your voice.
Turn your phone, so you’re looking at the left side. Here you’ll find the ring silent switch. It lets your switch from ring mode to silent mode. The volume buttons increase or decrease the volume.
Now, move to the front of your phone. The receiver is the speaker that the iPhone uses for phone calls. The home button by default sends you to the home screen. Press it. On a high resolution color screen that appears, you see the application buttons that launch different iPhone applications. Find the status bar at the top of the screen. Here, you could find the cell signal, airplane mode, WiFi, EDGE or 3G network, Lock, Play, Alarm, Bluetooth and Battery icons.
Lastly, look at the back of your iPhone. Here you find the camera lens in the top left corner. This enables you to take pictures with your phone. Now, you can enjoy using all of the iPhone features.
