Zoe Sofia: Have you ever been diagnosed with the ADHD or has your child been diagnosed to the ADHD or may be you know someone whether it’s yourself or a friend family member or child that you worry may have ADHD. Well today we are going to talk about that very subject ADHD and the symptome associated with the most common treatment which is medication. And then we are also going to talk about alternative therapies and treatments that have actually been known to cure those symptoms and ADHD itself.
So that means with these treatments no medication no long term side effects no symptoms of ADHD through out their life, and this is actually curing the problem not covering up symptoms.
So let’s first touch on some statistics because truly the diagnosis and treatment of ADHD has Giroc and it is really in epidemic proportions, and infact it needs on some old statistics but it says as million children are taking ADHD drugs every single day. And that number actually doubles every 5–7 years. And hence projected to continue that way, so we actually had exponential increase in the amount of drugs that kids you are taking for diagnosis of ADHD. Now hear is something you may not be aware of, the US population is 2.5% of the entire world population, yet we are the one who is consuming 80% of the available psychostimulate drugs. So we have this tiny little population that consumes in this mass majority of these types of drugs. And I know some people like to blame genetics on ADHD and they can do newly thing about its and the gene pull but why is that America has the largest in most diversity in pull and resolve the one consuming this ADHD drugs.
Now I want to talk about the side effects of these drugs because they impact every single organ on our bodies, these drugs act on our nerves system which in turn regulates our whole body, so it’s going to impact our heart our lungs our kidney’s our livers our circulatory system all these things are going to be impacted from this drug. Now here is the list of some other side effects, restlessness, tremors, anxiety, and insomnia which is actually very common, diarrhea allergic reactions high blood pressure tics, nausea psychosis, hypersensitivity, anorexia, and weight loss.
Now here is something that really freaks me out because these drugs are not approved for pre school age children yet they are prescribed off level to this age group. And these drugs significantly impact development. There is a statistic that shows that, children taking these ADHD drugs were 20% shorter and 55% lighter for their age group. So obviously there is a huge impact on the growth and development of children and if they take these long terms it’s is going to impact their health over their life time. Now these ADHD drugs are what are called scheduled true narcotics they are in the same category as Crank, Methadone, Speed, cocaine warfarin, and opium. So these are addictive drugs, and we are giving them to our children.
Now I am sure you for these stories, middle schools not in their relevant to get high, high school is selling it illegally to their friends, college students buying in on kind of in the black markets so they can stabling study, cheer leaders taking in so they can keep their weight down and so they can stay pepped up. And actually there was an article out of Japan that talked about how they are having a clamp down on their diagnosis because these drugs are been so abused, people are actually breaking in the pharmacies to steel these drugs and people are lying about their symptoms so though get diagnosed with the disorder or with the diseased that they so they can get these types of prescriptions. So these drugs are addictive in people who are going out of their way and doing things illegally to get these drugs.
So I want to talk about alternative therapies for a minute. Because I really think that there is not enough attention paid to alternative treatment verses traditional treatment for ADHD and traditional treatment is medication these are all addictive medication with long term side effects. So I think that the majority of people have if they have a safer option to treat hyperactivity and behavior disorders. I think they would choose the alternative therapies, so we are going to talk about that.
There was recently an article out of Canada, that they said 5 % of school age children have a disorder called convergence and insufficiency or CI which is the vision problem. And it actually has this very similar symptoms to ADHD so its later they miss diagnosis of children, so they are told they have ADHD and they don’t they have a simple eye problem that’s very treatable, so the first thing need do, is if you think your child has ADHD they are exhibiting some terms that are similar to behavior problems you know hyperactivity take your child to get an eye exam and that could be a very simple alternative to your child and needed medication.
The second alternative everyone talk about is omega fatty acids specifically we have omega3 fatty acids, you should found in Semen, hallow bait trawl in flax seed just a name of few sources, and there is a study that was out of Britain that took children and gave them 750 milli Grams of omega 3’s on a daily basis and the results are dermatic, it was its from with the scientist he said and they said that they are learning improved, they are concentration improved and you know their behavior problems were significantly reduced. So that’s shows heaven is right there that if we supplement that the Childs diet with the omega 3 fatty acids that specially if they are not getting any other diet what so ever they can have a big positive impact of how they are learning and their behavior.
The next alternative treatment is to make sure that your Childs iron levels are normal, and that they have enough iron in their diet. There was a study out of the pediatric and adolescent medicine journal, and it talked about 84% of children diagnosed with ADHD in the study. How low blood iron levels. And the way that Iron impacts ADHD is in low iron creates in abnormal dopamine reaction which the leads to the ADHD sometimes, so something as simple as supplementing your kid with enough iron on diet making sure they are getting the food sources of iron can keep them from having to take long term medication.
The number of all alternative treatment is to make sure that your kids are not eating a toxic diet and by that I mean that you are minimizing their exposure to artificial ingredients such as artificial food colorings flavors chemicals and excessive of amounts of sugar. Doctor Alex Angela Richardson is an oxford university scientist and she said in article of that kids are with eaten I firmly believe that especially if the kids are eating a large amount of sugar and things that we are not used to eating you know back in the early 1900 we were eating all these chemicals and additives and things that actually on even approved then have a extensive testing, and I did make an other video its called the ADHD warning and it talks more in depth about the risk of artificial food colorings and ADHD symptoms.
Number five alternative treatment for ADHD is exercise, now ADHD is you know characterize by hyper activity and kids are meant to be active, so if they are living a
Sedentary lifestyle, especially an attend age when they are sent to school to sit down on the desk for 8 hours, you know their body’s are actually supposed to be that sedentaries. So they if don’t have an out look to be active, they are going to express hyperactivity some times. So it’s important to make sure that they are part of an exercise regimen on a daily basis, and it doesn’t have to be that they are going to gym, but they are may be involved in sports so that you know playing outside something besides stirring in that whole busy when they get home from school and play video games. That’s not a good out look for them.
And number 6 alternative therapies for ADHD is general nutrition and balanced diet. And that really in the know brainier, if the kid is eating junk food all day long, and they not getting their fruits and vegetables they are not getting the nutrients they need and if that’s the case the body is not going to work properly so they you know or more susceptible to expediting some times like behavior problems lack of concentration and you know problems and some times that are similar to the conditions and disorders out there, so just the simple act of providing a balanced diet to your childs can make such a differents. Now there is several factors that influence hyperactivity in a lack of concentration, and one of them is not a lack of vitalan in the brain these psychostimulant drugs are not curers they don’t address the real cause of the problem they just cover up the symptoms.
Now one alternative therapy may not work for you it may be a combination of several or may be one specific one when that addresses the cause. And if you find that therapy that addresses the cause you are not going to have symptoms and you don’t have to do with the side effects. So ultimately the choice is yours, and the one hand you can take psychostimulant drugs that are highly addictive that have very bad side effects including start to growth and development, or on the other hand, you can sical alternative solutions to your symptoms, not having side effects and not only will it address the symptoms of ADHD is going to improve you overall health. The choice is yours.
