Jennifer: Susan Paris works in a school but her own schooling brings back painful memories.
Susan: I am mostly remembered in Junior I having a lot of -- sell my report card.
Jennifer: No one knew she had ADHD.
Susan: I was on the cloud all by myself and didn’t really seem to be timid in to what the rest of group was doing.
Jennifer: As an adult she still struggles.
Susan: It takes me longer to do things than other people and so i end up taking work home with me.
Jennifer: Psychiatrist Richard Weisler says it’s an increasing like Harmon story because many doctors were never taught a look for ADHD in adults.
Richard: The good news now is that we have treatments available to help people making you know they can really change their lives in a very positive way.
Jennifer: Dr.Weisler let us study and which adults with ADHD would treated with an extended release Amphetamine patients showed an average 44% decrease and symptoms.
Richard: Patients really saw the improvement ability to accomplish more both at home and at work feeling better about themselves being more control as agitated.
Jennifer: For Susan it was the diagnoses that really heal the pain of shame.
Susan: So there is a happier ending to the story then I imagine years ago.
