If your child is struggling with ADHD, here are four tips that can help.
Well, 50% of children with ADHD will eventually outgrow the symptoms. It is still important to treat kids with ADHD, so that they do not become antisocial or develop low self-esteem.
Behavioral management strategies help your child learn how to control those behaviors. Begin by establishing rules. Let your child know what is and what is not acceptable behavior. Reward your child for following the rules and take away privileges for misbehavior.
Stick to a routine. A consistent schedule will help your child remember, for example, that 4 p.m. is homework time. Make sure that distractions like TV are not accessible when your child is supposed to be doing something else.
Work with your child to find an activity in which he excels to help build up self-confidence.
