AT&T Might Kill the iPhone
Hi, Fugaltech here, I’m making a video tonight entitled AT&T might kill the iPhone, so what am I talking about? Well a recent article Seanet talks about how AT&T and is now coming up of ways in order to limit your data plan with the iPhone on the AT&T 3G wireless network. Now, according to a spokespeople at AT&T, 3 percent of their customers, they claim used over 40 percent of the 3G networks bandwidth, and iPhone uses on average are consuming 5 to 7 times the amount of data as the rest of their customers and their claiming this causes the dropping of calls and so forth and some of their larger markets such as San Francisco and New York. A spokesman for AT&T, fellow by the name of Dela Vega, is basically looking at ways to either come up with new incentives in order to get you to pay more for data service with AT&T or positively even introduce some type of usage cap on the iPhone data package. Now Dela Vega says, he thinks in a long term there’s got to be some sort of pricing scheme to address the usage. So, you just heard it, AT&T is looking a way, really to raise prices and provide less services and their blaming you, the iPhone customers for their trouble. So, what can actually be done to help solve this problem, there’s a couple ideas, you could open up the iPhone, Apple, you could open up another company that maybe doesn’t complain or blame its customers for its issues, such as Verizon perhaps. Another thing could be done is pressure put on the federal communications commission to open up more wireless spectrum up for wireless care such as AT&T to get more data out there moving, coz we’re gonna have a real problem coming up soon which is this whole thing is gonna get critical mass. Now, this is coming out of a point where more and more people are adapting smart phones and the iPhone is the 800 pound gorilla in the room. If you wanna stifle innovation in the wireless and mobile device marketplace, this is a great way to do it, raising the prices or capping the usage on the iPhone could cause more and more people to look at another device rather than the iPhone, and that’s bad business for everybody.
