Hi! I’m Andy Robinson, the Landscape Renovator. Now the next design tip I want to give to you at Bob’s project is accenting the architecture. Now you probably heard everybody talked about what is that mean. Okay, first of all, the front door of the house is actually the most important architecturally and landscape architecturally, and we want to show people to the front door.
Now as you can see in Bob’s house, we can’t see the front door so we have a lot of work to do here. The other things we don’t want to do is to put some large bush in front of it if we can’t see it anyway. So we’re going to have to draw and attract attention through topiaries, color, or something that really catches our eye. The other we want to do is to soften the corners of the house. That’s what some large bushes off the corner, maybe a tree or two sticking off the side of the house is going to help draw our eye out away from the house. Maybe make the house seem a bit larger than what it really is.
Well Bob, we’ll going to show maybe a little bit of feminine look in to your house because now look--being the bachelor you are, you live on a lady street and we love to have nice soft curve and nice soft lines. Now it’s a little bit hard for our male customers but that’s okay, men are designing it so you have learned a long time ago that soft curves are whole lot nicer to look at.
