Acclimating Your New Dog to Your Home

Host: How long will it take a newly adopted dog to acclimate to my home? Kevin Simpson: That answer really is different for each individual dog. For some dogs such as puppies that they can transition in a relatively short amount of time maybe a few days or a week. But for dogs that are a little bit more mature or maybe have some insecurities you can expect a month easy for a transition period if not longer. There are some things you can do to help facilitate that transition a little smoother for the dogs such as offering them a daily routine, one that is consistent with daily rocks, grooming and just and overall opportunity to just settle at their own paste by learning all the different family members and the surrounding neighborhoods.
