Okay, another one of my unboxings and this time it’s a projector from Acer. Now and it’s a fairly standard one but it’s got an especially high contrast ratio of 2500 to 1 because—which would be great on the TV but for a projector are—that is quite good. And it’s fairly compact as well which is quite good, 400 hours of lamp light and it’s which—it’s kind of contested and personally in my opinion, better in LCD projectors. It also got some kind of Acer general stuff ECO projection small—. So absolute rubbish because Acer just came up with it to sell at you but other way—projector. Looking at this, the first thing you see is some bubbles or —and we’ll come to the—for a minute you get rid of it. A VGA cable. Going to show you—Also, you don’t get enough—you don’t get a display port to VGA. That simply might slipped in.
It runs in a standard AC. So there’s our power down in the end of this, it’s all included which is I am going to prefer, rather than anything else and then I’ve also got European. So same end on there but it’s European not UK. So I guess that would be quite useful though and what else we got in here, we got a video; two video lead. So no run wire audio but just the other cable which can be quite useful and there is also a warranty pack, a CD and quick start guide. We love quick start guides. Now of course for the moment—for. There is little remote as well which could be quite useful.
Now there’s just bubbles in there. So, let’s go—so let’s go to a bit more detail in the projector. It is an Acer projector. Here is the lamp with kind of rubberized cover. Here we go and that is a focus ring as you turn that around. I like that slightly better—you could see it’s a lot better on there. Isn’t it for instance that for this remote which is far as I could see it fits there quite nicely. So because you’re just going to use it for control but if you don’t want to use, lose it.
And there is the power switch and that’s the infrared. Going on this side; nothing much; the same there. On the back is where—there is a VGA input which this supply came what’s that, S-video and I think—and that’s video cable but we did get standard component; yes component not composite. And okay, so that’s a USB there and then we got the model number, Kensington lock in case you want to lock it down onto a desk and that’s for the power; that’s there. And that also came with the European charger. So, that is pretty much all the rest to it. Well now, come to you with better footage of a test or to and some more details.
So, I’ve set it up with just a single power cable and single VGA cable. If I zoom any bit, you will see that the clarity and the contrast on this even in a room with a light on is incredible. I mean—if I just zoom all the way in that I come in my camera; optically anywhere, you will see that the clarity is just incredible for projectors and that is running a resolution of 1440x900 which is its highest resolution and you will see that it’s plugged in to my MacBook Pro using the DVI-to-VGA cable that came with the MacBook Pro. Keep in mind though, not with the projectors.
So if you did want to plug this into a DVI port, then you would have to supply or an adapter but that—that are quite easily than access taking by this pretty much anywhere. As for the clarity on there, I am very impressed with it. Contrast which I mentioned earlier just as a number has really come to life is incredibly bright.
Now I know that the —there is flicker but you can’t see that purely because it’s been filmed and it’s actually running at 60 hertz which again, for projector, it’s not a feature that you find that often. Let’s have a look at this photo at full screen. Now to avoid copyright issues, these are photos I’ve taken so—
Again, incredible clarity which I am very impressed with. It displays great color and I guess the camera isn't really doing this justice. But again I haven’t even calibrated this. So if you look at this picture which I took in—you won’t be able to see it too clearly but it is an incredible picture and it’s coming up very well. All the colors are very good with. This is another one that shows up really well.
So you can see all of these are very good and very bright and now this is the final test. We will watch. Well we’re going to watch. We’re going to watch a clip of School of Rock which isn’t my property and I will have to remove in YouTube require so—.
[Demonstration]
Let’s just skip with that. The colors are very together although one thing I do notice is the—it’s not quite in time with what’s going on. So yeah, if you are in the market for projector, that is incredibly high quality and I’d say that the bargain is £266. This is a very good choice. This is the Acer X1160P. The highest resolution it can go to 1440x900 which is plenty for most laptops.
And it is VGA, S-video and component in. So you got a good choice there and it comes with a remote EU power supply and you get a power supply. So, thanks for watching.
