Well for this week plant of the week or should I say plants of the week, I am looking for something that has contrast and I have picked these 2 plants.
This is Faisal Carpus, Diablo and this one is actually a Dahlia. This one is called Bishop of Llandaff.
Now these two plants have something in common and that is the beautiful dark foliage to them. This one here in particular, the Diablo has a nice white flower on it. It is fairy small really should not be planted for the particularly the flower but the beautiful foliage.
Now, it will grow 4 to 6 feet high so if you are planting it in the back ground, you can really have some nice accent plants.
This one here actually works as an accent on his own. Having a nice Dahlia garden, it is a fairy short compact one and you can see it has his vibrant red, and it works very nice against some dark foliage.
Now with any of these, it is very important to have something that is going to bring it out. Now I have described this, this is actually called Yuanamis Futurnite, it is emerald and gold.
And as you can see, if we are looking at some nice contrast here, we have got a nice plant. This one will grow about 2 to 3 feet high, it is a broadly evergreen so, it will keeps its color in actually colors up to gold in the summer months with the heavy sun.
We have got the Dahlia, which shall actually come out quite nicely and it gives you a beautiful foliage even when the flowers are finished. And then we have got the Diablo which will be in the back.
Now obviously, we would not be planting them this close but, you can see you can get some nice contras with flowers and when this comes out with white, you are going to have yellows, reds and dark foliage and a beautiful white.
So if you are looking for nice combinations, might want to try something with dark foliage and light foliage.
