Structure is the back bone of any garden. And a great way to add color and stronger structure to your garden is by using something with a nice strong birth color.
Now I have got 2 really neat plants here. First of all, I got this one which is called the Dog Wood. It is a yellow twig dog wood. And what is really neat about this one is it can come in actually sort of red to a yellow color. It comes in like this one, a yellow color or a straight red color and you can mix and match, and it makes a great small schrub with a neat full color, as well as structure and a nice accent to your garden after the leaves have left.
And you know what? It can take a lot of abuse. It can go in a moist area. It can go in to a bit of a shady area if you have to. They are very, very strong plant so I highly recommend this one. It is a great way to go if you got a little bit of trouble there and you want to add a little accent to it.
Now the other plant I have which is a little more stably. This one is called the Coral Bark Maple.
Now actually it is called acer palmatum sango kaku. And this one is really neat because you get this beautiful coral bark to it. Which is really a nice accent when it got a leaves on it, but this tree is also exciting even in the spring when the new leaves come up because it has sort of a line green color to it, so this make a very nice structure.
The only thing you have to worry about this one it can not pick up a lot of wind. It can take part shape, prefers a bit of dappled sun but this can make a great accent in your garden.
So if you are looking for a little more structure and adding a little more color at the same time, try one of this.
