Presented by: 4AllMemory.com
Here’s what you’ll need. Your Dell, your new SATA hard drive, and SATA data cable. We will start by taking off the side panel of the computer, and placing the tower on its side.
Here is your old hard drive; we will leave it in since we have an extra bay. This is the extra SATA power cable it should already be in your machine. Find the two clips on either side of the bay, push inward then pull out.
There are four pins on the bracket and four corresponding holes on the hard drive. All you have to do is line up pins to the holes and snap the bracket over the hard drive.
Time to put it in, slide the drive fan side up, and port side out into the bay. Make sure the clips snap into place hooking up the hard drive; Data Cable Port, Power Cable Port.
The “L” shape will helped you hook up the cables correctly, keeps your cables organized you can thread your data cable through here to avoid tangles.
Last steps, connecting the hard drive to the motherboard you can use any one of these free slots for your new hard drive. Again, the “L” shape on the port and cable will help you line everything up 1, 2, 3 and 4.
Time to pack it all up. Plug everything back up to your computer and turn it on. Hit F2 before your operating system starts to enter setup mode. Turn on the drive you installed in the setup menu and exit.
When your operating system boots up, your hard drive will install and your done! Find more helpful videos and detailed instructions at our website 4AllMemory.com/Videos.
