Hi, this is another matford.com video; this one is to show how to add your blog to blog catalogue and how to add the blog with it to your blog, okay. Let us have a look of what I mean by that. This is one of my blogs called blog tactics and if I scroll down all the way down to the bottom here. We have a couple of widgets, this one is for my blog log and this one is for blog catalogue. Now, the reason for adding this widgets for a couple of reasons: First of all, you get a back link to your blog from a particular site and they are all authority sites; Secondly, they provide social proof when a visitor visits your blog and sees that lots of other people are visiting your blog as well, it is a form of social proof that shows your blog is popular and it shows that is worth visiting.
You can also get traffic from blog catalogue as well so they will actually send you some visitors from your profile listing on all of your blogs, so it is well worth doing but how do we do it.
Okay, first of all you need to set up an account with blog catalogue so go to blog catalogue log in or sign up and confirm the email etc. to send us all the stuff. Once you have done that you need to log on and go to your profile and then click on account up here and that will bring up the list of many blogs that you got if you have not got any then they will still give you the option to add blog. You can see I only have two blogs so far and I am already getting some hits, this have not been here for very long this only been on here a week or so but this one been on about a month and I have already got some people viewing it and coming through to actually visit the site so it can get traffic.
Okay, so once have clicked on account you will then get the option to add a blog, click on that and it brings up the screen where you can put in the information about your blog. I am just going to fill this in and I am going to pause while I do so. Okay, fill in the details there is a note at the top here saying no solely commercial or pornographic material. Solely commercial, if your blog is solely commercial try to spin an angle that it makes it appear that is actually providing useful information your blog should be anyway so that it is not solely commercial.
Okay, obviously put in a title for your blog, try in work your keywords in there also put in the country, primary catsky, and a secondary catsky. There are a lots of catskies available in the drop down list. Also, you make sure fill in all the tags, the more of these you have the better, make them as different as possible but relevant to your blog, they will help bring in traffic and with the description put in something that is relevant and try to work some key words in there, then click on submit blog it just a second or two to update.
Okay, once it is updated you need to verify your blog and the best way to that is to build a widget for your blog so we will click on built the widget. Now, we can then customize this widget by making a few changes. There are few different options here, first you need to choose which site you are doing it for, so I am doing it for Tank K, here is his update you see each time make a change. You can then choose which type of widget you want. The one that I am interested in is recent viewers so we will leave it as it is.
