Now, with all these layers currently selected, I'm just going to hit the F2 Key to deselect them all and let us scrub timeline now to a point where we can see our lettering. So, you see its animating on over the top there.
We have actually got some masks drawing over the top of these and I just want to be at the point where we can see the finish title. And what we also do is zoom in, just one click if necessary to take us to 100%. There fore we can see the edge of our title very smoothly because we are looking actual resolution.
But the reason we are doing that is the next switch we have control over is the “Quality Setting”. Now, this is set to use anti-aliasing you have. Very slightly soft pixels around the outside of certain elements to blend them very nicely into the background.
Again, if you are looking for speed saving, you can disable the quality and bring it down to “No Aliasing” so, you end up with jagged edges. It would render, the quicker but it definitely, does not look as good.
However, this is one of those switches that you can actually have turned off here in the timeline, maybe I would just do the same for the other three vector graphics inside this composition. If it is turn off in the timeline when you go to render this, you can still tell after effects to override the quality settings and turn them all back to full quality for you.
You can also tell it to leave them set as they are. So, some are at high quality and some are at low quality. Depends on typographic effect you’re looking for but just incase you do accidentally leave them on, you can override that when you render.
Now again, I'm just going to click and drag up here to turn them all on to the highest anti-aliasing quality. The next switch is a very easy on this. This tells us if their are any effects applied to a layer. If we do not want them to be, we can simply turn them all off at the same time.
So, the two lady layers that we renamed over here on the left hand side. They both actually have an effect on them, if we go ahead and click on the F to disable the effect. You will see that the layer are switching just to white. Well, the reason for that I can tell you is that the effect is being used here is a fill effect which is changing the layer color from its original white state to just a black color to match the silhouette in the center.
So, if you do the same on the right hand one, you can disable the effects. Again, this is another option that can be turn back on when we go the “Render” but it is totally up to you, if you want ahead towards the option. It is usually best just to turn them back on and constantly be aware of what is going on in your animation.
