Adobe Creative Suite 3 - How to Navigate the OnLocation User Interface

First launch Adobe OnLocation CS3, if you don't already have it launched. Once the application is open this is what you will see. Now whenever you start working with OnLocation. It's always a good idea to save a new project. So go up to your File menu and select New Project. Navigate to your Desktop to your Project Files folder for this training and then double-click the Chapter 01 folder.
Double-click Lessons in Progress and let's give our new project a name. Let's call it First Project and then click Save. Now all the clips will be capturing in OnLocation will be saved to that location. So if you have a FireWire capable camcorder handy, I suggest you plug it into your computer now, so you can follow along with me with your own camera. If not, don't worry because we included a test clip for you to follow along with.
If you have your camcorder connected via FireWire go up to your Devices menu and this is where you will see a list of all of the devices currently attached to your computer. I am going to select my Sony DV camera which is currently attached to mine. With that selected you should now be seeing the input of your camera in the Field Monitor below.
