All right. Here we are at chapter two. We are going to start this chapter from scratch because we are building a menu from scratch. Let us start by creating a new project. Let us call it chapter two. And, let us put it on our desktop in the project files folder in the chapter two folder. That is appropriate.
To choose, we will be constructing a DVD in NTSC. By the way, these options open up if you put the authoring mode in Blueray. We are ready to hit OK.
And, here is our brand new fresh project. Since the project panel is highlight which is this top left panel right here, the properties for this panel will show up over here in the properties panel. Notice that it says disc. These are disc properties. Let us go ahead and name our project right away and let us just call it the chapter two project.
Okay. Now, in order to start building a DVD, we are going to need assets and assets are any objects that will be included on your DVD or just disc. The assets can include timelines, video, audio, menus, pictures, slideshows, even photoshop files in their native form. And, where we import is the highlight of project panel and we can right click and start importing assets this way. Or, you can go to the file menu and import as—I will get out of that menu there. If you are not importing stuff and you want to start assets from scratch, you can just right click and go to new and create assets on your own. You could start a new menu, you could start a new timeline, slideshow playlist, chapter playlist and a folder just to organize your work. Let us start by bringing in the movie files and the audio that we will be using for this DVD project. So, we will go to import as, let us go to asset. And, the assets that I want you to import are on the desktop in your project files folder, in the media files folder, in the DVD build folder and I want you to select jogger DVD M2V. I am also going to select jogger dvd.wav. I am holding down my command button to select both of these if you are on the PC. You will hold down your control button and hit open.
And here are our two assets. There is an interesting option here that I want to show you and that is, we imported this .m2v in this .wav file separately. If I wanted to, I could have imported the jogger dvd.m2v as a timeline with this file already embedded as the timeline. And the way that I would have done that was to go import as timeline because this option here would have imported the file in its own timeline already and added this file to our product panel.
Let us go ahead and make the timeline for that file right now. I will right click and I will start a new timeline. There it is. It is a new untitled timeline. It shows up at the bottom of our screen. Let us call this timeline in the properties panel, our jogger DVD timeline. I will click away from it and you will notice that our timeline is now labeled jogger DVD. We are ready to get started working with timelines.
