And lastly, let us head over to the bottom right of our screen where we have the library styles and layers panel.
In the library panel, we have a bunch of templates that Adobe was so nice to include in their Encore package. These are royalty free and you can use them at will. You can organize these templates by theme. Right now, mine is one travel. You have a bunch of themes here. I will leave it on travel and I want to show you that you can still further organize these. I can organize them just by menu and these are lists of the menus that Encore already has. I can organize them by button. I can toggle display of images, text, shapes, and so on. It is all right here.
Right behind it, I have the styles panel and these are pretty much pre-made styles that I could use to effect text that are already existing in my menus or images, and then I have the layers panel. This panel is interesting because it shows you all the photo shop layers that you have in your project. Now, it is not showing me anything now. That is because I do not have the menu panel highlighted. I am going to highlight that and there is our photoshop layers.
There is a particular naming structure that you have to use when using photo shop layers in your project. They will notice that there are these little pluses with parenthesis. I did not put them there. That is how Photoshop communicates with Encore and that is how you would include highlight layers in your project. We will go over that later in the series.
So, that is pretty much a big tour of the interface. The only thing that I did not show you yet is that you still have that same liquid interface that all the other CS3 applications have. And that is where you could slide all your panels over. You could slide them up and down. You could pick them out of their dockings. I will bring this out here. I will hold the command key. Control key on the PC. There it is. I removed my properties panel. I will go ahead and put it back.
So, you could really customize your Encore interface just like any of the other CS3 application. And if you don’t like what you did, you could go to Window, go to your workspace, hit the default and it resets itself.
