This is a $159.00 piece of Aerogel, which pound per pound is much more expensive than gold.
It feels like about 1/10 the weight of Styrofoam. Basically, it is like solid air. In fact, it is 99% air.
This is why they call it blue smoke. It weighs nothing. I can even barely feel it in my hand.
Now, I have heard and I am not going to try this, if you squeeze it more than just a very light pinch, it will burst into thousands of tiny little pieces like sand.
When you put it with light behind it, such as the sky there, it looks sort of like yellow ice. Here, we have it in front of incandescent light, and it is still looks like ice.
