Hi, my name is Bryan Stevens. I am former insurance agent with financial consultant. And I am going to show you how to get an affordable health insurance plan. There are four basic types of health insurance.
Indemnity plan is the most expensive plan. It allows you to choice your own doctor in hospital. It is the most flexible plan because it allows you to make your own decisions about your healthcare. You pay your bill after services or render or and then reimburse by insurance company. A Health Maintenance Organization or HMO is the cheapest plan. It provides you with the network of doctors in hospitals chosen by your insurance company. You pay a monthly fee for these plans and all visit and prescriptions must be approve by your HMO.
Preferred Provider Organization or PPO is the popular plan. It is similar to an HMO, but you pay for medical care after it receives instead of paying a monthly fee. He also has the options of seeing out of network doctors. Visit within the network require a small fee while out of network visits may require a deductible payment and a co-payment.
A Point of Service Plan or POS is more expensive than an HMO or a PPO, but much cheaper than Indemnity Plan. It is for people who want to have the option of choosing her own doctor in hospital or staying with the network doctor hospital. The first thing you need to do is figure out which health insurance plan is best for you.
If you want a lot of flexibility than a Point of Service Plan is your best bet. If you want the cheapest plan and do not mind your doctor is being chosen for you, then a Health Maintenance Organization is what you are looking for. If you want more freedom of choice and a Health Maintenance Organization and they willing to pay a little more for your insurance, then a Prefer Provider Organization is a good choice. And if you want complete freedom of choice and do not mind paying for and then Indemnity Plan is what you are looking for.
