Female Speaker: Hello, and welcome to Cutting Edge Hair Show of the scissorboy.com. This is Blue Shampoo Salon with Madrid, so hello Madrid.
Madrid: How are you?
Female Speaker: Fine, well, what is this?
Madrid: This is a thermal product that we use for our thermal styling in salon.
Female Speaker: And who is it?
Madrid: Oh, that's me. I'm Madrid. It's a fabulous product. It works on all types and all types of hair. It's used for any type of thermal styling. If it's flat ironing, or curling irons, cripping irons, anything with heat.
Female Speaker: How do you go about creating your own product?
Madrid: That's a long answer. Basically I have a chemist that we work with, and we find ingredients and formulas based on what we want a product to do. And we go through a whole process of formulation, and then testing, and then reformulating, and retesting until, we finally get it down to make sure that it works. It says on the bottle that it will do, it really does.
Female Speaker: So, who is this?
Madrid: This is Brittany, she is my model today, and we want to go over some styling techniques with her and some color techniques to tell you how we achieve the color that she has today. We changed her look, I'll show you how it was a couple of weeks ago. Yeah, we also do educational video. Brittany happens to be with my daughter by the way, so she is kind of like my built-in guinea pig. So it was like this before, so what we did over the weekend, we did a show in Southern California, and we wanted to do something different. So, I kind of went in at the base and added some darker tones, and I kind of highlighted some darker pieces in there. When the hair is dry, it's actually, it kicks a lot more. So what I want to do now, is just go through a couple of styling techniques, styling tips and techniques that we do to prepare the hair for hairstyling. One of the first things we do after shampooing and conditioning, we shampoo with Madrid's luxurious moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. Then we get a nice leave-in conditioner, and we spray it in the hair. All of our products are designed to keep the cuticle closed, and that's really important in hairstyling and hair coloring, and this is how you keep more moisture in the hair, is when the cuticle is nice and sleek. So our products promote cuticle closing.
This is a foam setting lotion. We are going to take little bit of setting lotion and just apply it all over, and make sure you don't put it all in one spot. That's evenly distributed, give her a nice little head massage, and then what we do, this is kind of a preparation for your hairstyle. It's called molding the hair, or wrapping the hair, if we want to do it in the circular form, wrapping is what we do. You can look at this, just like if they were a roller set, or if you were combing finger waves or any type of setting hard to the hair. So this is kind of setting the hair in the direction that I want to style it. I do molding processes, because normally even when you're blow drying, the hair is not done, it has not taken shape, or taken form, until it's almost three quarters of the way dry. So, why go thorough the whole process. So I mold the hair, put them under the dryer for a short period of time. The dryer takes away all of the excess water, moisture, which is not moisture, and it just kind of leaves the hair really supple. Now, once I get the hair comb pretty smooth, I go in with a whole another technique.
