Air Purification System for Allergy
Dr. Travis Stork: Well, another alternative option is to tryout something called, “The PureNight Pure Air Filtration system.” We have allergy specialist, Dr. Richard Morris on the phone. He’s going to help explain the benefits of this new technique. Welcome to the show, thanks for being with us.
Dr. Richard Morris: You’re welcome.
Dr. Travis Stork: So tell us a little bit about this system and how it benefits folks like Melanie or can benefit them?
Dr. Richard Morris: There are about 50 million folks like Melanie in this country, and about 1/5 of those also have asthma. So she’s got a lot of company. And most allergies do get worst at night. They can capture the situation at night, that’s about a third of the life that person is going to feel better.
Dr. Travis Stork: So Melanie, why don’t you lay back and test this out.
Dr. Richard Morris: The PureNight System is a filter that I tested in a clinical study a couple of years ago. And it uses HEPA technology that cleans the air around the head of the person sleeping. A typical filtering device, I’d sit on the middle of the room and only get about 50% of improvement in the air whereas, this device provides a flow of air over the head of the person while sleeping and that is 99+% free of allergens, so a very helpful for allergy at night.
Dr. Travis Stork: And Dr. Morris, is this something you can see immediate relief if you start using it?
Dr. Richard Morris: Sure, you can. Usually within a night or two, and the improvements occurs on the allergy symptoms like runny nose, itchy throat like she mentioned, itchy eyes. But it also is shown to improve in our study, improve the quality of sleep and the alertness in the days following its use.
