Hello folks, welcome to Alaska Salmon online kitchen, my name if Troy Saffron and I’m here to show you how to make Salmon Meals quickly. We’re all very busy people. I grew up in Alaska. I’ve here all my life and I have learned how to make meals last and delicious, okay.
The fastest meal I know how to make, this is for anybody who doesn’t even—who says they don’t like salmon. This is called Candy Salmon. It’s the greatest. It’s quick, fast and easy.
Alright, take a piece of aluminum foil, you take one nice fresh Alaska Salmon. That’s we get right on there, or two-days old right there. Alright, you take that salmon and you put on a piece of aluminum foil. Fold that aluminum foil left, this is quick. This is what I called Candy Salmon. And it’s nice and sweet. It’s perfect for anybody who says I don’t like fish. They’ll love this.
Here we go, one, two, three. You get a can of sliced pineapples. This is pineapple with slices, not the chunks and what I do first is I take one cup of brown sugar. I spread it all around, nice, you pat it on there. You get that brown sugar and mix in. Now, what you do is you take and you roll-up the edges of your aluminum foil, okay. Get it nice and curved, You got to make a little bowl. You make a little bowl out there, okay. Then I take the juice from the pineapple, pour it all over there. Alright. Pour on them. Just keep putting the brown sugar on top. Go, go, go.
Like I said, it takes a count. We let it sit. Now, the sugar doesn’t necessary get into the salmon as much as you think. I take the pineapple slices and put it on top. One, two, three, whatever fits. This pineapple tastes really good once its cooked with the salmon too, believe it or not.
Okay, what I have is, I got brown sugar and pineapple sauce and I got the pineapple. I let that sit in a minute and I covered it up. Now, the cool thing about this is you can put on the barbecue and cook, no big deal. You get the over warm at 450 or actually at 400 degrees right now, and when that is ready, we slop it in the oven just like this. Follow me with the camera, can you see me? I put it in the oven.
Next, were ready for the completion of the Candy Salmon. We just pull it our off the oven. Perfect. And we go there. Now, still boiling in there. Alright, okay this salmon has been cooking for 22 minutes at 400 degrees. See that? It’s all saucy and sweet with pineapple and the sugar that is in there. Now, the sugar absolutely kind of stays in the outside, so what we do here now, we put it on the serving tray assorts. You can cut that into smaller pieces or whatever you like. Put that on some rice pea loaf, or over with some rice and the it is.
