Woody: Hi my name is Woody I'm from London I just want to know that if I drink alcohol frequently will it affect my cholesterol my level. Leslie cho: Hi Woody, drinking alcohol can definitely affect your cholesterol levels, so if you drink a lot of bear unfortunately your triglyceride which is another type of fat can be very elevated, so that's the reason why we recommend moderation, so probably the best thing to do for you heart anyway is to drink 6-8 ounces of red wine a day, hard liquor can also have an affect on your cholesterol, if you drink a lot of hard liquor you can also increase your good cholesterol but at the cost of damaging your liver, so that's why we also recommend moderation.
