A stroke can occur in any part of the brain. Here is what happens when it is in the left hemisphere.
A stroke in the left hemisphere of the brain can cause paralysis in the right side of the body, or Right Hemiplegia.
Survivors may develop aphasia, a term used to describe difficulty with speaking or understanding language.
Patient who have had a left hemisphere stroke often develop a slow, cautious style of behavior. They made frequent instruction in the most basic of tests.
