Female Speaker: Today we’re going to make Almond Butter and Berries. This recipe is great with a cup of coffee or with a heaping scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Caitlin: Hi, I am Caitlin with cooking with Caitlin. And today we’re at Clough Pike Market. For the Almond Butter and Berries, I like to buy this Almond filling for your pies, you can usually find it on the top shelf in the baking department of your grocery store, let’s get cooking. Recently my sister just came home from Phenix and she experienced dish and had almond butter and fresh berries toasted on it and she came home and asked me to do my version. So this is what I came up with. It’s almond butter and berries, it’s a great desserts. I don’t know. For this recipe, you only need three simple ingredients. Classic white bread slice and then whatever berries you prefer, I’ve got black berries today, and then almond butter, if you can find it, that’s great. But I like to also use this almond cake and pastry filling, you can usually find it on the top shelf in the baking aisle of the grocery, it’s got sugar added to it, so it’s a little bit sweeter than normal almond butter. There are three short steps of this recipe. First, you just take your white bread, and smear it with lots and lots of the almond filling, I like about a quarter cup per slice. Then just spray in your berries and push the berries in. Now we’re going to just put the toasts inside the oven with the broiler going on, it’ll take about 2-3 minutes for the berries to purse and for the bread to get actually toasted. After a few minutes under the broiler and the corner starts to get toasted and the berries start to purse, they’re just completely ready for you to eat. These are ready for serving, you can serve them with a big bowl of ice cream or with your scrambled eggs in the morning. Now cut it in half, and dip it in my coffee.
